Highlighting and contouring are two crafty tricks one can use to enhance their bone structure. Contour can help enhance the gorgeous features you`ve already got. Even if you are not going for any event, it`s fun to experiment with some of your makeup product. The biggest problem is that even with the endless amount of info out there on the topic, figuring out where to begin is not an easy task. So guess what! that`s what I`m here for. To give you guys a basic tutorial on how to contour the face using foundation, concealer and powder.
1. Use the right shade and texture: Your contouring product should not be more than two colours deeper than your complexion. If your skin is light to keep, go for taupe and grayish brown. Darker skin tones should try warmer cognac colour.
2. If you desire a subtle look, try natural looking dimension, go for a liquid matte bronzer. You can work it between your fingers and press it unto the hollows of your cheeks to give it a touch of warmth.
3. However if you want a bold look try a cream. Creamy contours like sticks and palettes are more dramatic than powders. Blend in a small amount with your fingers, a brush, or a damp beauty blender sponge. It builds more colour for a stronger result.
4. For the ones looking for a polished look, try the contouring powders. The contouring powder are sheerer and also ideal for skinny skin. Dust on a translucent powders, then apply the colour. This prevents it from sticking to the natural oil in your skin.
5. Avoid contouring everything. You can contour your entire face, but that doesn`t mean you should. Using any contouring product of your choice, try your cheek hollows: start from the middle of your ear and move forward to the corner of your mouth, halting at mid-cheek. Shade additional features based on your goals, whether it`s a less pronounced forehead, a more sculptured jawline or a slimmer nose. It will add some definition.
6. One can also try the invisible contouring mechanism. Here you`re elevating the bony structure without a ton of product. You can begin with a light application, then add colour until you get a subtle carved-out look.
7. Stay away from any contouring product with shimmer. When you think about it, the reason is obvious: you`re trying to add a sense of depth with matte taupes or cool browns that also absorb light. As we know shimmer reflects light , so bronzer with flecks in it will do the opposite of the desired effect.
8. Normalize it with blush and a highlighter and pow! you are all set to go and astound the world with your flawless face.
